The administration of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, supported by Memphis City Council, has launched a $200 million investment program intended to accelerate the city’s growth by improving quality of life, driving equity and inclusion, improving connectivity, and solving long-standing problems. A major part of this multi-year plan is $42 million invested in parks and community centers, upgrading existing assets and replacing others. OT Marshall Architects program management work includes renovations of Gaisman and Riverview Community Centers, a $9 million soccer field, a new club house at Pine Hill Golf Course, the addition of a banquet facility at Whitehaven Community Center, $5 million for the deferred maintenance of swimming pools, and $10 million in deferred maintenance for community centers. The work is to be completed in two years.
