The Gardens of Germantown is an 81-unit memory care community for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The secured facility’s design is a non-institutional, residential-style facility with multiple areas for community spaces based on individual patient’s level of care. Each of the activity rooms is brightened by skylights and designed to create “neighborhoods” with a family feel enhanced by spacious hallways, elegant décor, and apartment amenities. It is a reminder of how architecture can create a positive impact on anyone’s life and how every person deserves the positive emotional reassurance that comes from good design.
